JEFF HYMAN's Passport

Here we have Jeff Hyman's passport. Or maybe I should say better: Joey Ramone's passport!

This is a rare collector piece that it was auctioned off on February 2013. I think this is the first picture I see of Joey without glasses. Tell me I'm a weirdo but I think he looks very nice!

RONNIE SPECTOR'S "Beyond The Beehive"

I can't describe all the feelings and emotions Ronnie Spector gave us the night of the 9th of March at Queen Elizabeth Hall in London.

Just amazing. Just M-A-G-I-C.

"Beyond The Beehive" was a multimedia performance which Ronnie performed a few of her classic tracks including The Ronettes songs.

She talked about her life with words, songs and pictures. She couldn' help to mention to her ex-husband, of course. And this is the picture she very ironically showed us of him...:

And she talked about when she was a Frankie Lymon fan, the beginning at the Peppermint Lounge, Joey Dee, Murray The K, American Bandstand, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, the UK tour, Brian Wilson, Joey Ramone... We sang The Ronettes songs, she payed tribute to Amy Winehouse and we danced "Be My Baby" just to a few meters from her at the end of the show.

Goosebumps all the time!!!! I will never forget those moments.

 Thanks Ronnie!!!!!!

The K, American Bandstand, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, the UK tour, Brian Wilson, Joey Ramone... Todos juntos, cantamos canciones de las Ronettes, rindió homenaje a Amy Winehouse y bailamos "Be My Baby" a tan sólo unos metros de ella al final del 'show'.

¡La piel de gallina todo el tiempo! Jamás olvidaré esos momentos.

¡Gracias Ronnie!

"What is a Teen-Ager?" by Al Hartley, 1957

Here you have a lovely description about how a teenage girl was for the comic-book writer Al Hartley in 1957.

According to these pages, I will tell what a teenager is in my own words:

"What is a Teen-Ager? A teen-ager has an unbelievable knowledge of rock'n'roll music. She can drive her parents insane... or melt their hearts. No one can laugh as loud or cry as wet! A teen-ager dislikes getting up in the morning, gaining weight, doin the homework... But she likes drinking soda, clothes, magazines, movie stars... and she loves as crazy records, DJs and dancing!".

Al Hartley was an American comic-book writer artist in the 1950s. He created "Patsy and Hedy" and a few of Christian stories (he became a born again Christian en 1967).

I couldn't resist to share these 4 pages.

JAKE and DINOS CHAPMAN: Come and See

Some pictures I took of the Chapman Brothers exhibition at Serpentine Sackler Gallery in London.

This is just a little sample of you can find in their work. Blood, violence, sex, destruction, irony, criticism and black humor are the ingredients for them. Anything goes!

This is not for weak minds. Like it or no, it will leave no one indifferent!

Te guste o no, ¡a nadie dejará indiferente!

THE BUTLERS - Shop Around (Parkway, 1967)

First purchase of the year? Yes, it is! Although it may sounds as it had been recorded at early-mid 60s, this is a little gem from 1967 released by Parkway Records.

I don't know what Smokey Robinson thought if he listened to it, but it's for me a real killer dance floor tune enough to wake a dead man. Be ready to hear a kind of The Miracles playing garage! Enjoy it.

THE BUTLERS - Shop Around

*

¡The Miracles haciendo garage! Que lo disfrutéis.
